blanc michele 1977

It was in 1977 that the Blanc Michèle workshop came to be. Daughter of a ceramicist, Michèle Blanc then spread her wings to establish her own workshop. Self-taught and highly observant, she started producing and decorating her own faience in keeping with the values of the craft.

Not long after, Michèle Blanc became Master Faience Maker, and it was initially with her husband that the workshop expanded.

For several years, the workshop has included her daughter and her son-in-law, who is qualified in ceramics and specialises in working clay.
Recently, a third generation joined the workshop: her granddaughter who graduated from the School of Ceramics and won the gold medal for the best apprentice in faience decoration.

Our workshop stands out thanks to this mix of generations.

While fundamentally seeking to uphold the legacy of the great Moustiers-Sainte-Marie Master Faience Makers of the 17ᵗʰ and 18ᵗʰ centuries, we have been able to associate tradition and creation in original, contemporary and more personally inspired collections.
